September 26 – October 28, 2008
Page-Walker Arts & History Center, Cary, North Carolina

"Reflection" has a multitude of meanings and allows for figurative and abstract interpretation:
Reflection as a wave phenomenon observed in physics such as the reflection of an image in the water, reflection of sound or reflection in a mirror; Reflection as the transformation of an image to establish symmetry; Reflection as a consideration of events in history, politics or society, whci shaped you as an individual, the people of a nation or which affect the world; Reflection as thoughts on what is important to you: your family, your home, your community; The process of reflection such as meditation.
You are invited to share your visual interpretation of reflections in art quilt form.

We are pleased to announce the artists whose art quilts were selected by our curators Christine Hager-Braun, PhD., and Lyric Kinard. Congratulations to the artists!

The Professional Art Quilters Alliance - South announces its seventh annual juried exhibition of innovative quilts:

Artquilts transitions

All of us are affected by transition. Either through subtle changes or a bold shift in direction, transitions alter our world. Conditions may force us to revise our own physical, emotional or environmental state, tereby requiring us to make changes that impact our future, both individually and collectively. Transitions occur through the tools we use, the beliefs we carrr, or the intentions we act upon. You are invited to share your visual interpretation of the transitions that reflect the changes you have witnessed or hope to see, in quilt art form.

The full-length prospectus will be published as soon as our jurors are confirmed.
