ARTQUILTS Vantage Point-South is an exhibition of the Professional Art Quilt Alliance-South at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center. Thirty artists from eight southeastern states are represented in this exhibition. The quilts, juried by judges Susan Brandeis, artist and professor at North Carolina State University College of Design, and Jane Shuping Tyndall, owner of Tyndall Galleries in Chapel Hill, were chosen for their artistic merit and theme interpretation.

Each quilt in the exhibition illuminates the vantage point of the Southern artist, whether it is the resplendent beauty of the South (as in Michele Hardy's Colorfields: Citrine), one of the many unique cultures (as in Janine LeBlanc's Dave at South of the Border) or familiar landscapes (as in Jill Jensen's Blue Ridge Mountains X). From the larger Hurricane Warning by Ellen Guerrant (55.5" x 42") to the smaller quilts like the 15.5" x 20.5 Sizzling Cold IV by Nancy Cook, the variety of colors and distinct impressions of the South are communicated through the medium of fiber art.
