Juror's
Biographical Statement
I am originally from Chicago,
where I attended the School of the Art
Institute (BFA 1981), and started working
with fibers in the 1970's. I worked
professionally as a textile designer
and product designer for the tabletop
industry until 1993 when I returned
to graduate school at Syracuse University
to earn a dual masters: MFA/MA in Fibers/Textile
Design, respectively.
I now teach studio art at James Madison
University in Harrisonburg, Virginia
and work on my art in Charlottesville,
Virginia. My work is primarily concerned
with layering dyeing and surface embellishments.
I often incorporate photo/digital imagery,
which is abstracted and reassembled. |
