The Professional
Art Quilters Alliance – South is a group of professional
artists from across the southeastern United States who come
together to promote innovative art quilts, art cloth, and art
garments. Formed in 2002 which became a non-profit 501(3)c
corporation in 2009, PAQA-South members share their
collective wisdom and experience to encourage new artists,
provide educational programs for its members and the public,
and sponsor exhibitions of fiber art.”
The Professional
Art Quilters Alliance-South gives fiber artists a
forum in which to network with others who have similar
interests and goals. We come together to strengthen each
member's professional development and business acumen. |

Professional Art Quilters Alliance -South is collaborating with the Taiwan Art Quilt Society.
for a joint exhibit, ArtQuiltsrivers, to be shown in both the U.S. and Taiwan. Twelve artists are working one continuous quilted river that visually flows across twelve quilted panels.

Narrative Threads
|
| PAQA-S is pleased to announce Narrative Threads, a members-only exhibit at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center in Cary, NC in 2012. This is a wonderful opportunity for our membership to participate in a collaborative experience with writers in the creative process. Each collaborating quilter and writer pair will interact in its own way to produce a unique work. As of January 15, 2012 there are about 15 pairs of collaborators. |

The deadline for the receipt of submissions is May 25, 2011.
|
Submission forms will be available at the PAQA-S website and the Narrative Threads Facebook page in May, 2012. Only one submission form is required for each pair of collaborators.
|
The exhibit will be hung at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center in Cary on June 21, 2012.
Exhibition Dates: June 25, 2012 through August
27, 2012.
Opening reception: June 29, 2012. |
